Round 3: Test Drive

Welcome to the third test drive!
Please don't worry too much about using your Personas correctly or following the prompts exactly. They're meant to give you starting ideas, but by all means, go wild and add more options!
The objective here is to try out characters and see who you could have the most fun with in the game's setting. However, feel free to follow this link to request a Persona be generated for you as if you were part of the game. (Please try to limit this to only one of your test drive characters if you can as to not overwhelm us!)
If you have questions about the test drive itself, you can ask them here! If you want to play an AU don't forget this entire post can be used for you to get AU scenarios set up and see who your character might have been related too or know before Awakening.
Now then, let's begin...

Now then, let's begin...
Prompt 1 - The National Leviathan Habitat
Eddan's shimmering sapphire of an aquarium, the National Leviathan Habitat, is holding a series of special events at its location in Royal Mount. Students and family groups get half off, with certain events being completely free. This include a full night's stay at the aquarium sometime during the week for any person who checks in with their card. While spots are limited, it's such a large aquarium, and nights can be booked in advance, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. So come, everyone! Enjoy whale spotting, aquarium strolling, educational shows, and a night surrounded by water. However, unknown to you, something else might be starting to beat in the deepest, darkest depths of your heart.
Similar to the flower festival that was used in the prior TDM, Unawakened characters can get a flash of memory sometime during this prompt and Awakened characters will be able to occasionally pick them out. For more information on the National Leviathan Habitat, which is a player introduced location, please check here.
Additionally, if both test drive player and game players agree, the aquarium test drive threads can also become game canon! As long as the test drive character is played as being completely unaware of what has happened in the game up to this point. Keep in mind that they would NOT have had a message on their phones. Two Test drive players can also make these game canon if they get accepted (and they keep the same requirements as above).

Prompt 2 - From Dawn to Dusk
The city has been abuzz for the past few weeks. A new string of murders is making front page news and serving as a grim reminder why the nightly curfew is so important. As families, perhaps even someone close to you, mourn, pressure continues to rise at the many police stations and at city hall. The people are afraid and they’re demanding answers.
There's not much time for you to dwell on this.. Like everyone else in the city, you have a lot to do, and a tight schedule to do it in, even on summer vacation. (Or maybe because of summer vacation for the local schools.) You don't even notice the application that has appeared on your phone's screen. The headache that follows, however, is strange and disorienting, and it brings with it an odd sensation that something is wrong today. You’re just not sure why.
The day passes by and soon, it's close to midnight. Your body, if you're not in bed by now, is completely exhausted. Despite your best efforts, you'll find yourself closing your eyes. Too bad it's quickly interrupted by a strange noise, and movement like something pulsating softly.
It's your phone, or at least you think it's your phone, but it's never glowed this orange before. There’s mist rising above it almost like fire...something's definitely bizarre about this. Despite your fears, you forces yourself to open it, and click on that strange snake-like icon.

It opens revealing a single statement and blank box;
Your fingers move on their own. Before you have time to really think about it, and as the pain inside your head becomes so terrible you start breathing rapidly and sweating, you've entered a series of letters and pressed enter. Now you're in a large chatroom with many others...but your 'name' you've never even heard of it...have you? It almost feels like you have...

Prompt 3 - Awakening
The last rays of the sun disappeared over the horizon almost an hour ago, yet here you are, walking through the apple orchards located behind one of the campus wings. The strange app that's been sending you strange clues the past seven days now says you're ready to face the truth. It told you to come here tonight, but never to travel alone. Repeatedly, it warns you to make sure to have someone close by if you're to survive…but besides some friends, what else did you bring with you? Did you pack for this, or did you figure you'd make it up as you go? Are you in a position to be able to bring weapons with you that no one would suspect?
Something is out there, and it's getting closer.
Before you can think, you see it: a large, blackish mass, almost like slime, slithering along the ground resembling a vaguely humanoid shape with glowing yellow eyes. When it roars again, it reveals rows and rows of teeth. This was a mistake your brain warns. The strange name from the chatroom, the days leading up to this...you're fairly certain even if you are prepared that you're going to die.
And yet, something inside you stirs. Even as they move closer, you find yourself charging instead of running, as your heartbeat increases. A voice inside is guiding you, each movement bringing forth a surge of memories of a past that you had lost. You’re angry and confused, but your pain, your fears, your rage for all of this… all of that needs to be taken out on those creatures.
All you need to do now is to tear out your heart.

Prompt 4 - A new, old life
Now that you have your memories back, the strange veil of this world has been somewhat lifted. Things that seemed simple now seem strange. You have so many questions, but not enough answers. Then there's the new weapons you wield and the strange creature inside of you...your Heart Persona.
During the day, you are encouraged to continue to live as you did before, but with old and new memories together, sometimes it is difficult to keep acting like you did. Will it cause issues in your job or school life? Will it change your reactions to whatever life you had here? Do you notice others like you who have awakened?
Maybe it would be a good time to send a chatroom message, just to ask others what they are planning to do. Maybe you should set up a meeting to fight shadows at night. Maybe you’ll organize a plan of attack or set up a club to escape the strange looks others have been giving you. Maybe you just want someone's opinion on the best place to have pizza. Hey, no one said you had to use the AppleNET just for serious things, after all.

Ken Amada (AU)
Riki likes the aquarium. He likes being around wildlife in general. Animals are nice. Animals don't care who you are or how much money you have as long as you're not dicks to them. Animals are nice.
People are less so, which is why he's currently running down the halls of the aquarium, attempting to dodge any security guards mostly out of habit. This, of course, is just making him look more suspicious, and he'll happily use whoever is in his way just to put space between him and the guards. Don't mind a small kid trying to push his way past you or use you as a shield.
2
Glasya-Labolas: what
Glasya-Labolas: why this
Glasya-Labolas: what is this and why is it on my phone
Glasya-Labolas: get it off
1
He instead manages to park himself squarely in front of Riki. He drags a hand down his face. "Can you. Mrgh. Maybe. Not run around and make me look like I've kidnapped you because the security guards are giving both of us weird looks."
He doesn't want to be accused of kidnapping his own kid the first week of having it. That is exactly what he doesn't want to do.

He thinks he may recognize the boy as someone who either attends or has been seen near Green Valley school, but that alone doesn't mean he has any reason to intervene. The boy's problems are his own. The guards chasing him will probably catch him before too long, and he'll likely be reprimanded for whatever he's done to draw their attention. He needn't stick his neck out for a stranger. He needn't...
...but he does.
The moment Riki comes within arm's reach, he'll find the back of his collar sharply tugged. If he doesn't resist, he'll be brought to stand at Kit's side facing the aquarium glass, just out of the guards' line of sight. A school of fish swim idly past, not a one seeming to care about the commotion taking place outside of their more placid habitat.
"Keep your head down and don't move," Kit instructs him. "Pretend to be here with me until they pass."

Koko Himaa
The young teacher sighed, resting an arm over her eyes - as though shielding her eyes would be enough to avert the... memories weren't quite right; didn't feel right. Why would she have a recollection of something that could only be described as fantasy?
Groaning, she sat up after another few minutes, looking about. There were a few others who had decided to stay overnight. Maybe she could... distract herself with checking to see if others were sleeping alright. Sure, she wouldn't be able to leave the building, but... "I guess it beats just lying here," she muttered under her breath. Sleep just wasn't happening tonight, Koharu surmised.
2. 'I will be heard...'
Myste1552: What is this app and why can't I delete it?
Myste1552: Interesting idea, though- the ouroboros iconography. So kudos there. Albeit creepy as hell.
1
Apparently she's not completely focused on her work, or at least not so much that she can't tell when she's being stared at. "Problems, honey?" she asks, Southern accent thick and distinct.

Kyoko Mogami
It would be even more interesting to try to get into the tank. Her eyes scan the walls looking for what direction she might need to go to find it and she sees an authorized personnel only door. Stopping next to the door she tests it to find it locked. So the girl pulls out a compact and applies makeup waiting for someone with a key to wander by. This will definitely keep her attention for a while.
She looks up from her mirror when she hears footsteps.
4. Kyoko had no idea what to do. Natsu was almost the exact opposite of her and she was having difficulty diving back into her with thoughts of the battle still fresh in her mind. Sure she can usually manage it once she's gotten a character but that's for a show! This is some horrible alternate world where she's actually a bully! She's a BULLY! Yes that really is what's bothering her the most. She pulls up her phone and looks at the network with a frown, frustration welling up. She's never going to catch up to Sho at this rate. She's stuck somewhere else entirely!
OK maybe being a bully isn't all she cares about. Her fingers shake for a moment and it's hard to tell if she's scared or angry. Probably a bit of both. Her cursor blinks and she frowns at it. Finally she types and sends.
Kyoko-like-Kyoto: What are we supposed to DO?! It seems really irresponsible to put us here and expect us to know how to do this!

Tsunayoshi Sawada
The boy blinks awake again when his phone buzzes. "Thought I turned that off…" He groans at the massive throbbing headache and it's been going all day long. He rolls over and stares at the orange screen. His brain isn't functioning on all cylinders though and he squints trying to focus. There's a weird orange circle-thing on it and then it's prompting him for something.
His head pounds harder and he winces even while his fingers move to type Sawada Tsunayoshi into the app. And the pain gets worse, gasping for breath, Tsuna feels sweat drip down his temple and holds the phone to his head for a second while his other hand presses from the other side like he can hold his brain inside through sheer force of will.
When he pulls it away he takes a second to clear his vision and frowns at the screen. Who is Sawada? Wait that's him? He should go get a tylenol but the thought of trying to lift his head from the pillow just makes it ache more. Instead he types.
SawadaTsuna: What is this place?
Prompt 3
Tsuna had not planned ahead. He didn't even really want to be here which really was the story of his real life wasn't it? He'd come with someone but he wasn't ready for this at all. He could almost feel the mass before he could see it and all he wanted to do once he saw it was get the heck gone. What is it?! It's horrible! He doesn't have any good weapons, he'd brought a baseball bat he'd borrowed from a family member but seriously? A bat against that monstrosity?! What was he thinking. A horrified noise was slipping out of him somewhere between a whine and a shriek.
And still here he was like an IDIOT running toward it. Why was he doing that? He grabs for his chest when it feels like something is moving inside. It would be just his luck to have a heart attack while a monster bears down on him. Though no one could blame him, surely. He nearly stops when he hears the voice, his hand clutching at his chest and then through his chest. And it hurts! It hurts a lot and he can't run anymore because his fingers close around what feels like his heart and he tears it free from his chest and screams, eyes going wide and body dropping to the ground. This hurts a lot more than a bullet. A LOT more. He can feel his heart stop. His eyes glaze over and he stops breathing, stops feeling the pounding of that creature coming toward him. Everything but the pain stops and that pain feels endless. It feels like it lasts for hours. And then he can feel slow thumping and he's pretty sure that has to be the creature walking so close he can feel it, walking faster now. He can't tell it's his own heart starting back up even if the pain is somehow receding.
3
Now, standing here frozen in the face of something dark and monstrous- Black Tezcatlipoca her mind whispers, a glitch in her memories like so many before- she's not so sure. Before she can do anything, whether grab the boy and run or reach for her bag, he's running off ahead, and Katherine gives a small cry. Her own heart is pounding pounding pounding, like it'll just burst straight out of her chest, but she tries to ignore it. All she focuses on is suddenly lunging forward as well, grabbing for his shoulder as he stumbles.
"C'mon now, gittup!" As the monster stalks closer, she leans down, trying to get the boy's arm around her shoulder.

Crona Gorgon
In the center of the aquarium, a single small figure sets to pacing, twirling a strand of their pink hair anxiously.
Conner...was not good with crowds. They, um, they liked fish! Fish were cool!! They came to see the fish in the aquarium all the time when they had a day off from cram school. They'd just...forgotten it was a holiday...and now there were a ton of people here...that they didn't want to deal with...
Anyone walking around the aquarium might spot a small twelve year old trying to hide in corners, as far as possible from any of the bigger crowds.

Katherine supposes she's always had a weakness for the high-strung children, or at least she's patient enough to deal with them well enough, and she can't help feel a little pity for the child she spots trying to keep out of the limelight. Still, she doesn't approach outright. Instead, she makes her way casually around this particular area of the aquarium, brilliant red hair pulled back and floral dress flowing along behind her. It seems like a natural path that leads her not too far away from the child, glancing over one of the non-living exhibits, before she turns her head and nods slightly to them.
"Mornin'." It's a thick southern accent that leaves her mouth, and she glances back down to the exhibit. "You on your own, honey?"

Reid stared into the shark tank with a quiet intensity he'd never been known for. He should've cracked a joke by now, or at least taken a ridiculous selfie. But even as he told himself this in his head, he couldn't pull himself away - not from those sleek movements, the evolutionary muscle, their dark, glassy eyes. He hadn't come here for the sharks. Actually, he'd saved up for this overnight adventure with every intention of camping out near the coral reef display. But now...

SqualoCesare to enjoy maritime displays. Especially when he feels a very physical sensation of disgust at its title (particularly the "Leviathan" part). But here he is, at the aquarium, taking a seriously too long walk through the glass tunnel to look at sharks and feel absolutely in his element. ][ Well, those murderous fish are almost as beautiful as him, so it's understandable, but still. [ And it's here that it hits him; just a brief moment of a life that doesn't seem to be his, but a great white shark is solidly in it. One that tears into flesh on his command or even without it, maneuvering in the air itself instead of water. ]

"Christina Ivybrook" Vermouth | Detective Conan
[Aquariums might not be Christina’s entertainment of choice, not compared to a good play. However, the special events offered a welcome change of pace in the summer months. Plus with the student offers, there was a good chance she might see some familiar faces. How lovely that would be. She hoped the students were doing well.]
[Once there, she strolls through the dimly lit rooms until an exhibit catches her eye. Slowing to a standstill, she watches the fish with a pensive expression. She almost looks sad in this light.]

Celty Sturluson
For such a quietly intimidating girl, you would be forgiven for thinking Celty was kind of adorable for her utter fascination with the fish. The clown fish, angel fish, ocean sunfish... they're all kind of beautiful. She can be found taking pictures, thoroughly examining walls of informational texts, and generally showing a lot more interest and emotion than is typical for her. She's the creepy tall kid who avoids eye contact and looks like she could pull out a knife, not the excited mess.
When she isn't fawning over fish, she can be found struggling to figure out where to put her overnight supplies. She'd never been to anything remotely similar to a sleepover and wasn't 100% sure where she should... do anything. At some point, her backpack splits open and various clothes, hygienics, and her sleeping bag tumble onto the floor. She's quickly scrambling to pick it all up, trying not to seem too flustered.
3
Celty's head is missing and she's surrounded by strange creatures. She claws desperately at her own neck, feeling for something, anything, that's supposed to be there. But it's just gone and she can't even scream about it.
Stumbling backward, she starts to feel for her chest. She... has to take out her heart? Why would she do that?! She's literally lost her head! Yet... it feels like the right thing to do. She probably needs some help to build her strength.
4
So you used to be a dullahan. Which seems to be... some kind of headless Celtic thing. She spent far too long staring at her reflection, checking it at all angles. It felt like hers, but it also felt... fake. Superficial. Like it wasn't her real head. Was that possible? Could she have... misplaced it? Was that a thing that happened?
Throughout the day, Celty's distracted and aimless in class. Her voice cracks in conversation, like she isn't used to using her voice. Everything feels kind of slow now, the people less important. She's immediately disgusted with the thought, but she doesn't know which emotion feels more real.
Eventually she decides to sit down and send an important message to the chat room.
Setton: So like.
Setton: We weren't abducted by aliens, right? No weird experimentation or body changing, right? Please?
Setton: Oh god we were abducted by aliens.

Ixtlilton
Ixidorr was usually not part of the groups that went on any of the field trips the school took. Mostly as the nurse stations had to be manned back at the school more then they needed that extra set of eyes. However, for this one, one of the other teachers had called out due to a nasty strain of a stomach virus that had taken half of her class with it. Thus the need for someone to fill in was needed and as an aide to the actual school nurse he was a better choice then taking another teacher and needing to bring in a substitute teacher.
Thus there is a short student nurse amidst the sea of excitable children trying to be the responsible adult while still letting kids be kids. Oddly enough he's one of the least harassed looking of the adult supervision despite corralling twenty excitable students from one section to another. Especially as there seems to be times when following after his charges seems familiar in ways that didn't make sense as he absently hums a tune a bit under his breath.

Ixtlilton: Well, notifications are getting a bit out of hand in being attention grabbing. I foresee many one star reviews after that little light show.

MORE NO EVIL CHARACTERS I LOVE IT (1)
Conner looks up at Ixidoor through the fringe of their choppy bangs and flinches back so hard they're practically cringing.
"Oh, ohmygosh I'm s-so sorry." If they could die right now they would. They would be down to. "I- i i-" They don't understand, they're socially anxious sure, they know that, but the sight of the nurses outfit sends them into an uncontrollable panic, as if pissing off this guy was going to do more then embarrass them. Instead they shake where they sit, unable to look away.
It's getting a little hard to breath, Conner's head is pounding.

Ailane
Despite being sixteen, Aliana's small (only 4'6 and likely only ever going to gain one or two more inches in her life) size and the way she's staring with wide eyed wonder at the various exhibits make her seem far younger to many that may glance her way. Especially as her fascination takes her to the various hands on exhibits and she ends up in the thick of things.
Hopefully no one she knows is around to see this considering her reputation as being an icy and distant person is being shown as a lie at the moment.
3
She didn't know what to do or how to get out of this mess. She had already stumbled just from jumping back in shock at the black mass that was going to eat her appearing. She was far from being anything close to athletic so fighting, let alone running would just end in pain.
'Big Brother, I wanted you to see me play in a band again.'
And she doesn't really understand why she thinks that, even as the lion ears on top of her head flatten down in fear and the tail lashes about. They weren't there before but they feel just as natural as thinking about a brother she never had before.
It seems someone is having a bit of difficulty getting to the whole tear out their heart instinct as she slowly backs away from the shadow with one hand over her heart but not attempting anything yet.

Nishi Joichiro | Gantz
What made this event so special? The fact that the Habitat was hosting it for all the residents to spectate? Nishi wasn't the least bit interested in what the aquarium had to offer, and yet he found himself stationed before the large tank. A thick slab of glass being the only thing between him and the sea creatures that roamed the domestic waters in front of him.
"Who cares?" Certainly not him. His father insisted he go, though. The regret of agreeing to it was starting to set in.
{ From Dawn to Dusk }
[ It had to be when he felt completely drained that this would happen. ]
Cimeies: Okay.
Cimeies: Who hacked my phone? Speak up.
[ He was tech savvy too, don't mess with him. ]
National Leviathan Habitat
Akira overhears the question beside him. He knows he should stay out of other people's business...
"Is there something wrong with the exhibit?" The question was mostly out of curiosity and there was no ill intent behind his words. Perhaps there was something actually wrong with the event overall. If it was boring, there wasn't much that could be changed. The only thing that could change it was who Nishi chose to spend the event with and how.

Pyrrha Nikos
Everything was astounding and she was having a great time, but she kept wandering back to the large ocean tank full of every kind of fish imaginable. She gazed into the blue depths for a long time, but it was her last walk by when something caught her attention. She could have swore she saw something out of place in the water, so she stepped closer, only to gasp as a vision hit her.
An orange haired girl stood on the far side of an arena with a dozen swords floating above her. Suddenly the swords multiplied until there were far too many to count, then came flying at her. Her immediate reaction was the push back with all her force, turning the weapons away from her. What happened next wasn't planned. The strings the swords were attached to wrapped around the orange haired girl, ripping her apart. Her metal body fell lifeless to the ground only a moment later.
Priya put her hands over her mouth in shock as the vision dissipated, confused and unclear by what she just saw.]
What-- What was that...?

Pyrrha Nikos: Hello everyone! I'm so sorry to bother you all with this silly question, but, what is this? It suddenly appeared on my phone and I can't seem to get it to go away! Thank you in advance!

let the trauma begin - 1
He'd never been one to argue with her and he couldn't deny that she certainly had a point.
So, here he was. He'd decided on the aquarium because he didn't make it that way very often and it was a nice change of pace. Of course, maybe there was more at work here--but it's not like he would know that.
He's leaning over an exhibit for stingrays -- a little pool where at the right time you can even pet them. It wasn't too busy at this time, so when he hears someone ask a question in a surprised tone he looks over his shoulder...
and freezes at the sight of a slender body with long red hair. Nope. No way. John looks away, but now he can't stop glancing back occasionally.]

Hiei | Yu Yu Hakusho
[Vincent can't say that he's ever really had particularly strong feelings for aquatic animals - much like most things in his life, they were simply there. but a free voucher is a free voucher, and he was hardly ill-natured enough to turn down a change of scenery at no personal cost to himself.
the trip had even managed to be pretty enjoyable so far, despite the swarms of people buffeting him to and fro whenever his attention wandered for too long. the deep sea exhibits were particularly fascinating, and he finds himself lingering by the informational plaques longer than he'd anticipated. there was simply something entrancing about the otherworldly nature of many of the fish.
eventually, however, the crowds prove too much for his (admittedly limited) patience. rather than allow them to dictate how long his outing lasts and send him into a hasty retreat, he opts instead to step in line for a whale-watching tour. Vincent doubts they'll actually see any whales, but the gentle rock of the boat is soothing and the number of people on board will be severely limited.
it's a pretty good idea, if he does say so himself...right up until the ticket taker tells him that they can't allow him aboard 'unsupervised'.]
...you can't be serious.
[his diminutive height (4'10", give or take some hair) is a constant sore spot for Vincent, but to be totally mistaken as a child is an infrequent enough occurrence that he finds himself temporarily stunned into silence. how long that'll last, of course, is hard to say, given the severe downward slope of his eyebrows.
really, now. what child wore this much leather or was allowed to pierce so much of their face?]
two;
[so part of this aquarium adventure had proven itself to be a bust. fine, whatever. he'd 'paid' for an overnight experience and by god he was going to see this through to the end, even if at this point it was almost purely to spite the braindead owners who'd thought to hire completely blind people for employees.
he'd been careful to choose the building with the deep sea life exhibits in it for this overnight excursion, and now that the facility's officially closed to the public he takes the opportunity to spend some quiet time in what had surprisingly become one of his new favorite locations. it's pretty late now, and he'd sleep in a moment - the allure of quite among the grotesque was simply too much to ignore.
it's while he's staring up idly at the undulating creatures that he suddenly feels a splitting pain shoot through his skull, like -
"The girl is our kin, she will stay. But the boy is an abomination. He is a harbinger...disaster will come to Hyouga if he lives."
he can see them, dimly, as if through cloth wrappings. can feel their fear and hatred towards him - and his own burning desire to slaughter these women where they stand.
whatever this vision is, it's too much for him to handle. by the time Vincent returns to the real world he's already on his knees, instinctual self-preservation the only thing between himself and a concussion. he can't help but allow a grown to pass through his lips; even as the thought recedes, his headache doesn't.
rather than pull himself to his feet once more, he settles himself heavily against the nearest wall. pride won't allow him to press a hand to his forehead, so instead he gives himself a distraction by rummaging around in his jacket pocket in order to produce a small notebook and pencil.
the incident was strange and disturbing, but he refuses to allow himself to dwell on any of it. instead he decides to attempt to channel all that uneasiness into writing some new lyrics - the imagery had certainly been brutal enough to qualify, after all. he already has a title for the song in mind, which he jots down quickly: The Cursed Child.]

...not unlike the one that brought the dark-haired boy to his knees across the room.
At first, Kit had tried to explain away the headaches with logic. Perhaps they were brought on by changes in the weather or their being underwater. But then, taking into consideration that the weather had been fairly consistent, and that none of the tunnels were very deep, and the rooms themselves were only submerged enough to add to the overall ambiance, neither seemed like the probable cause. How many other people had wound up the same way? And how many had simply brushed it off like a nonconcern?
He knew he shouldn't meddle, that it was better and safer to keep to himself and remain uninvolved in the affairs of others, but as he couldn't sleep anyway, Kit found himself coming to stand some ten feet away from Vincent, his attention seemingly on the creatures on the other side of the glass. There would be no discovering more about the situation without engaging, and so he asked quietly without making eye-contact...]
