Round 2: Pre-Awakening AUs, Personas and Tarots, Lets Plan!

We've made this post for a very quick round of pre-drive planning. Post the characters that you are interesting in trying out and ask for advice or suggest, or even try to look/entice for castmates! Suggest pre-made AUs where someone from cross canon has been living with you for a while, so when you begin the test proper tomorrow you'll have an idea of what you want to do!

The city of Eddan is like a typical metropolis, your characters can have any job that would make sense in a busy city. They don't have to be restricted to the school, or have a school job.

You are free to continue using this post to plan or ask the mods test-drive related questions. We'll do our best to answer in a timely manner! If you're not sure, don't be shy about asking. There's a lot of freedom!

You can also request to roll for a Persona. You can find information about Persona and the Awakening here. Ask for as many test drive characters you have if you'd like!

If you want to assign your character a tarot card for test drive purposes, you're free to pick whatever you think fits best. Your character's actual Arcana will be assigned after being accepted.

Let's begin! And remember, the test drive will is Already In Progress

I mean, considering Yamamoto's canon, weird is pretty normal for him. But I would be delighted for these two kids to be friends, yeeees.

Yamamoto also plays soccer!! So they can absolutely play together, when Yuuto's memories come back to him, but I feel like my baseball nerd might start to fret over him if he notices the other start to become more distant. sdlfjs In a sense of consistently dragging him out to do fun things or trying to find ways to cheer him up because no friendo what hurt you.

But they'll absolutely have run into each other then, if his AU self pops around to different clubs. Yamamoto mostly sticks to the sport teams, but he's the kind of person who'll help out wherever people want him to, so chances of them having talked more than once is pretty high. '^'

tldr: "What hurt you" can be summarized by 'Kageyama'. His mentor/ surrogate father figure ruined him. It's pretty heartbreaking; canon Kidou has decent self esteem but no idea about his own identity. What Kageyama did to him was essentially chip away at his lingering sense of self that already was at risk from being adopted until his identity is his role. He is a Kidou; that's a role. He's a playmaker; that's also a role. He has no idea what's left of himself that's just him, and not what. So he's a weird case of someone with decent self esteem but with massive identity issues, and little feeling of self worth. It gets him every single time that anyone would ever support him to the extent that he looks amazed that someone will help him off the ground. So yeah, there is an ocean of problems to get into there. Please do fret over him, it's warranted.

That said! Once he's awakened, he'll be more likely to not want people to drift out of his life either. Just because he's lost the ability to know how to connect to people like a normal human being doesn't mean he doesn't attach deeply. That'll make this easier on Yamamototo! (and he'll awaken before him, since he was in the first round of applicants. There'll be some ????? before there's even the beginning of a clue why he suddenly broke)

At least he's going to stick to soccer and never leave it once his memories return. It isn't the soccer he knows and loves, at all. It's cold and dead compared to his over the top canon, but it's at least a facsimile of soccer.

I've established that Michi was part of the swim team for a short while, and currently does track and martial arts. Would any of those work?

Looks like Yamamoto's gonna have to try and fix that!! He's absolutely going to be the sort of person to try and let this poor kid know there's a lot more to him than he thinks, so be prepared for Yamamoto lowkey being the best friend he can be when hears about all this. Just isn't in his nature to let the people he's become friends with not have someone they can turn to for support, and if he can give it he will.

But aaaah, that does sound pretty sad! That's good to hear that Yamamoto won't have to try as hard to be there for him, however. :> Also most sports anime is probably a lot cooler than the actual sport, let's be real.

But hmmm. I'd say track would probably be the most likely, since there's a lot of running in baseball so he'd probably want to be in a club that helps him get better at his sport.

I wish I could say Kidou's the best at emotional support, but we're talking about someone who had to ask his friend how to talk to his sister. He's a master of a lot of things, but he's learned so much at the expense of social skills. He WILL however be a solid, loyal ally to all of his friends - both ones he realized his other self had on Awakening and those he's made in this world.

He'll be support in his own way. Really though. Inazuma soccer is hardcore. (And yes, the one saying 'koutei penguin' is Kidou's voice. there.)

Track, then! Actually for that tie, there's another character on this post who's in track. Go see if you want to hit Fubuki up, too.

Don't worry, he won't really expect much from people he sees as friends. Given he'll try to literally be friends with anybody, whether they like him or not. <3 So he won't expect Kidou to be anything but himself, honestly.

alSO PENGUINS. Wow I was not expecting that when I read sports anime, but that is amazing.

And oh!! I will absolutely go bug them, then. :D Thanks for the heads up! <3
kouteipenguin: (no goggles - 45)

Yesss, good. Friendship!

Nobody expects the penguins. Not even Raimon (our hero team there, all staring at this in complete amazement) But the penguins are what sold me forever on this chuuni.

(minor weirdness note; Kidou can't have his goggles outside awakened form and that's going to mess with his head so much. Mine, too. It's *weird*.)

Yeees. <33 Also I would of been sold on penguins too, but sadly I've never been too interested in sports anime. One day that might change. >>

Also ooooh! o o Poor Kidou, I'm not sure what the importance of the googles are (you might have told me and I forgot), but that does sound like it'll be somewhat confusing if he's used to having them all the time, haha.

It's kind of a stupid reason, but it's tied into his identity. They let him look at things deeper than he normally would. His mentor/the big bad of the series/ the guy who made him what he is and that Kidou is constantly trying to define himself away from gave them to him. He does not feel as useful without them. He can't be what he needs to be, and if he's not, what is he?

tldr long complex identity issues from crappy father figure.
pouringrain: (✧ Hmmmm....)

[personal profile] pouringrain 2017-05-27 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh! I see. Huh, okay, that makes sense. Honestly I can see why he'd feel so off without having them on all the time.

But also wow his dad is a dick. :c </3

[personal profile] kouteipenguin 2017-05-28 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
The worst part is, that's not even his dad. His father was told to adopt him by said mentor and let Kageyama raise him. He wouldn't even go talk to him if he was having issues.

This kid has had a rough life.
pouringrain: (✧ What do you mean no baseball?)

[personal profile] pouringrain 2017-05-28 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Sure sounds like it. :C Sheesh. Be prepared for Yamamoto doing what he can to help, then, 'cause wow man you need as many positive people in your life for sure.
