Round 1: Pre-Awakening AUs, Personas and Tarots, Lets Plan!

In order to do a little bit of planning before the test drive appears, we've made this post for a very quick round of pre-drive planning. Post the characters that you are interesting in trying out and ask for advice or suggest, or even try to look/entice for castmates! Suggest pre-made AUs where someone from cross canon has been living with you for a while, so when you begin the test proper tomorrow you'll have an idea of what you want to do!

The city of Eddan is like a typical metropolis, your characters can have any job that would make sense in a busy city. They don't have to be restricted to the school, or have a school job.

As the test drive begins, you are free to continue using this post to plan or ask the mods test-drive related questions. We'll do our best to answer in a timely manner! If you're not sure, don't be shy about asking. There's a lot of freedom!

You can also request to roll for a Persona. You can find information about Persona and the Awakening here. Ask for as many test drive characters you have if you'd like!

If you want to assign your character a tarot card for test drive purposes, you're free to pick whatever you think fits best. Your character's actual Arcana will be assigned after being accepted.

Hey, all! I'm Teena and I've got two possibilities to throw into the test drive. Sephiroth from FF7:Crisis Core and Kurama (Minamino Shuuichi) from Yuu Yuu Hakusho.

I only had a few things for their AUs worked out but I am practiced and can do this on the fly. AUs are my bane, in that I come up with too many of them.

Seth Valens will be twenty-four and close to graduation from the advanced level with a double major on top of being a competitive fencer. Juggling all that really keeps him too busy to socialize much, let alone date. Anyone persistent enough to find the open times in his schedule will find that he's a loyal and caring friend, open with his emotions, and always willing to help someone when he can.

Shuuichi Minamino is a Japanese exchange student at senior level. He practices gymnastics, including rhythmic gymnastics, and it's a poor life choice to tease him about it being a girl's sport. He's a top rank student with an interest in chemistry and botany. He's sweet, friendly, and obliging, and slow to anger as long as you don't insult his family or call him girly.

Hey all! I’m Chelsey, and I’m pondering over whether or not I should bring the character of Ghislain from the otome game Reine des Fleurs to this game. In canon, he’s a proud, haughty knight that possesses rather extreme expectations and can be pretty strict. He basically fulfills the role of being the jerky tsundere guy, while also having a tragic backstory. What woe.

For his pre-awakening AU, I’d like to play around with the idea of him being a pretty ambitious person that comes from a less fortunate family background. Thus, he had a lot of trials and tribulations to work through on his own. Therefore, I imagine that he’s an honors student at a university, in his junior year, undergoing a biochemistry degree with the intent on becoming a doctor. Ghislain would also hold a couple part time jobs to keep him afloat. I don't think he'd honestly have time for an extracurricular activity … Maybe the fencing team or some other sport? Decisions, decisions.

CR-wise, I’m open to pretty much anything! Friends, rivals, classmates, potential bosses, co-workers, maybe people to tutor. Maybe even siblings and distant family members? I'm sure we can come up with something.

Hello!! I'm Skull, and I'm not actually sure who I'll be apping yet but all signs point so far to Furudo Erika from Umineko no Naku Koro ni, because Persona is my guilty pleasure and I enjoy terrible characters. In her normal state, Erika is a horrible person, who loves mystery novels to a disturbing degree and smiles to your face while she shreds your couch in the background. She's also The Villain, and owns it, but doesn't find that out until... literally just as she dies. Oops?

I'm still picking at the details of her situation, but in this AU she's a sweet, even-tempered high-achiever who transferred to Green Valley for the best education possible, as a girl like her deserves. Whether it's via rich parents or busting her ass for a scholarship, I'm not sure yet - but either way, she's here and determined to make the most of it. There might be rumours of her going through an incredibly messy breakup not long before the game begins, but without Bern's influence, it doesn't completely ruin her like it does in canon. (She does have a notoriously spiteful cat, though. One she will not hear a negative word against.)

She'll also be incredibly disgusted with how nice her AU counterpart is, once she remembers. Ugh.

I'm down with basically any kind of AU CR. Hit me. I'm excited as hell for anything that goes down.

Hey y'all, I'm Levy and I'm thinking of apping Aizen Sousuke from Bleach here. As many, if not everyone knows, Aizen is the biggest dick in canon and I kinda wanna keep him slightly the same but easier to play here!

I was thinking that perhaps for this AU I might take him as his prior to transformation/showing his true self (doho) type of character in bleach, so he'll be a nice sweet old man that'll help you kids out?! And maybe he might have a slight mean streak to him too...

Once he remembers though he'll just go back to being an evil shitlord I guess?! So if anyone is down for this please hit me up!

Yo, I remember seeing what I think was an interest check for this game on plurk a few months back and I was happy to see you guys are actually doing it, so here I am.

I'm thinking I might try apping Yamatonokami Yasusada from Touken Ranbu here. He is the favorite sword of Okita Souji and is a bit obsessed with him, but he's a good kid. I've already got a general idea of his AU/Pre-Awakening background. Orphaned at a young age, bounded around various foster homes until he was finally adopted by a really nice guy he admired a lot, but then that guy died and now he's emancipated at 16 and living alone (if that's actually allowed, if not he could have ended up with yet another foster family). So basically a loose equivalent of the history of the actual sword. >>; He's also in the Kendo club is there is one. I'm not sure yet whether Yams is going to be from Hanamaru yet or not. But, either way, that's what I've got so far.

Does anyone wanna plot or am I late to the party? I saw some other Tourabu peeps around here.

Hey all! I'm Noka, and I'm contemplating... well, three characters. Mostly because I'm great at decisions.

I was considering either Boxer, from Transistor or Ayano Tateyama from Kagerou Project. I'm pretty much expecting to LCW no matter what I do SO eyyy.

Boxer is canonically nameless & processed into a huge sword and used by his girlfriend to utterly destroy things, and I was considering having him play out similarly here. His name is probably something he doesn't easily share or otherwise buried under the nickname "Boxer", and he'd be a rough and tumble sort who mostly exists on the underbelly of Eddan.

Despite all of that, most of that's because he doesn't like being on records. He exists as someone who literally erased himself off of digital records and disconnected from his home city, so he'd probably be doing the same here... or once he awakened, repeat the process.

I'd need a mod opinion, but I kinda wanna have him transform into his Transistor (sword) version at night, and have a navigator persona, where he's basically a weapon that acts as a navigational guide, as in canon, with the major downside that he can't move around on his own (or his Persona has to carry him around, which would be funny and fitting tbh).

And Ayano... Ayano is a teenage girl who's very upbeat and happy and has a horrible sad backstory I'm not going to get into, but I probably wouldn't change much about her name/life either. She'd just be... well, herself, though maybe her Eddan-self would be more quiet and demure, and be more friendly to people.

I'm totally open to being tugged toward either of them, though I'm reaaaaaally feeling Boxer tbqh. Anyone wanna plot, potentially? I'd enjoy having him have some pre-CR and/or have a person who's willing to be the wielder to his Transistor.

Hi, I'm Zoe and I'm debating throwing Raidou Kuzunoha XIV here on the TDM. Canon Raidou is an apprentice detective, devil summoner, and occasional high school student from an alternate universe Tokyo circa 1931. He takes his duties very seriously (possibly too seriously in the case of the detective agency, since Narumi keeps sticking him with the laundry) and strives to live up to the name he trained for most of his life to earn. He secretly (and canonically) has a lovely singing voice.

Pre-Awakening Raidou is a transfer student who has a bad habit of getting into fights with bullies and as such, has been kicked out of a number of different schools; despite this, his attendance record is better than that of his canon self. He doesn't get along with his family (to put it mildly), so he's not terribly sad to be living apart from them. He is pretty good with computers and secretly an excellent musician.

Anyway! I'm Lisa, and I'm considering bringing Hikari Natsumi from Kamen Rider Decade to this game. She's a tsundere heroine who ends up traveling between worlds alongside the titular character, who may or may not be the Destroyer of Worlds. Before and during the series, her only blood family is her grandfather, who she co-runs the Hikari Photo Studio with, and said hero ends up living with them because hey~ turns out her home is capable of traveling between worlds.

...yeah. That's Canon.

For her AU, her name will be a bit different, as will her family background. Instead of her grandfather being her family, her parents are actually around instead. Also, her name will be Hikari Niko - with her first name being written as "sun child" in Japanese. She's a *little* miffed at her mother for trying to be *creative* with the naming thing.

But yeah, she's a professional photographer who does blogging for a group or two on the side. Dressing more casual than her canon self, she enjoys chilling with friends and customers as much as she enjoys getting that perfect shot. She's not interested in learning the financial side of the business yet - and why should she? Her parents are still around, and will be for quite some time in her mind; she can pick it up later.

I have already put Ankh from Kamen Rider OOO on the plotting meme, but here is another one to test out: Tsukasa Kadoya aka Kamen Rider Decade from the show of the same name plus various cameo appearances in other Rider series. He is a guy who lost his memory, decided to become the biggest jerk ever, realizes that he can fight to save all the realities, and finally remembers that he actually was the guy set on destroying the worlds.

He is also the source of the Kamen Rider joke of 'if it doesn't make sense, blame Decade'. Because it is all Decade's fault. All of it. Your toast getting burnt. Decade's fault. The world exploding? Decade's fault. He's the reason behind everything going wrong in the world.

Canon-wise he is a lazy world destroyer that gets mad if anyone touches any of his personal people and travels through worlds via his own special teleporting skills or using his not!girlfriend's family photo studio, which is also the home of one of his generals who acts like a harmless old man and yeah, Decade canon is special. He also steals all the powers of every main canon Rider for all of his attacks, has a massive sweet tooth and is the biggest jerk to be a jerk ever, but he really cares. Somewhat.

For his AU, he's going to be college student who's good at photography, is a bit of a jerk but not as bad as his canon-self, and probably was transferred to the school at a young age by parents who are well-to-do but didn't want to have a kid underfoot. He has a younger sister, but never really met her and can probably sorta remember his parents but has been living alone for so long that he refers to himself as being an orphan. Sob.

It looks like I'll be able to bring in this upstanding citizen sooner than expected! This is Bliss again - I've been test driving Twilight Sparkle, and will soon testdrive Robin Banks Akira Kurusu, alias Joker, Phantom Thief extraordinare from an obscure game you've probably never heard of called Persona 5.

Don't worry about spoiling me - I've seen the whole game. I will, however, have an opt-in policy for spoilers past the second dungeon; please let me know your cutoff date when tagging me, or he'll play stuff past Dungeon 2 close to his chest.

I'm thinking he's very much enjoying his honest student life as Robin before all hell breaks loose - as an A-B student with an active social life in the volleyball club. He will be most upset by regaining his memories, but mostly at the right people.

good morning, afternoon, or evening depending on when you're reading this. my name is riz and the character that I'm interested into bringing into this AU-style game is ciel from the tsukihime series. don't know about it? you're not alone, since the big moneymaker for type-moon has been the fate/ franchise for quite some time. instead of clogging this post up with wordswordswords about her, I'll just hand over a handy dandy wiki link. spoiler warning, naturally.

I'm still going to be hashing out more of the finer details but one of the solid things that I plan to have remaining in-tact between her AU life and canon life is her status as a follower of christianity. (and that her AU name is going to be what her actual name is canon was before she took on the alias of "ciel", elesia) she will have been raised by a heavily religious, catholic family, and will have moved into eddan city from the country of france with her family to spread the word of god. though canonically she's around twenty-four years old, the pre-awakened history is going to have her around sixteen/seventeen years old and will have been attending eddan's high school for a while.

I am exceptionally up for planning out a whole ton of variety of things! positive relationships, negative relationships, fellow christians (...idk how likely this will be but y'know), let's talk some stuff out.

as a small extra note, in the pre-awakened history ciel will be under the impression that she actually needs the glasses that she wears when in reality they're just meant to help complete her look. she'll also appear like this but in the eddan city's school uniform.

so yeah, let's hit some stuff off maybe?!

I'm super late to the party... Hi, I'm Letty, bringing Jun Kurosu from Persona 2! I already have some solid plans for his AU life, so let's jump right in, shall we?

Pre-Awakening: I'm still fiddling with names, but he lives, essentially, a charmed life. He has a living, functional, and quite well-off family, stellar grades, a bunch of friends, maybe even a fan club at school? He's popular. Star of a team sport like soccer or basketball. He's playful and kind and likes going out and doing stuff...he has the kind of life basically everyone would say yes to.

He needs people to populate his life! Family, friends, teammates! I would love for him to have a sibling or three in particular. Anyone want a pretty cool brother?

That *will* give front row seats to the disaster that will be his Awakening. Because it will be ugly. Decent chance of running away from home ugly. Jun's Canon life is about as messed up as it can possibly get, and he'll have years of vengeance, manipulation/brainwashing, and neglect to sort through. And daddy issues. Big ones. Mommy issues too.

Basically his AU life will be exactly what his canon self always wanted.

Okuu here is going to keep her name, and is going to be a slightly airheaded college student who is known for forgetting things and misinterpreting things she hears. Her family is up in the air since the Satori sister's aren't around.

She also has a hobby of raising baby birds, usually from eggs.

Her persona will likely be Yatagarasu of the Sun Arcana, being in canon she is fused with that particular figure. Her spell type i would like to be nuclear, since its her canon power, with some fire and physical attacks to round out her move list.

If we need an evolved persona, it will likely be Amatarasu, being Yata is her servant, and still the sun arcana.
