Round 1: Pre-Awakening AUs, Personas and Tarots, Lets Plan!

The city of Eddan is like a typical metropolis, your characters can have any job that would make sense in a busy city. They don't have to be restricted to the school, or have a school job.
As the test drive begins, you are free to continue using this post to plan or ask the mods test-drive related questions. We'll do our best to answer in a timely manner! If you're not sure, don't be shy about asking. There's a lot of freedom!
You can also request to roll for a Persona. You can find information about Persona and the Awakening here. Ask for as many test drive characters you have if you'd like!
If you want to assign your character a tarot card for test drive purposes, you're free to pick whatever you think fits best. Your character's actual Arcana will be assigned after being accepted.
Let's begin! And remember, the test drive will is Already In Progress

I was considering either Boxer, from Transistor or Ayano Tateyama from Kagerou Project. I'm pretty much expecting to LCW no matter what I do SO eyyy.
Boxer is canonically nameless & processed into a huge sword and used by his girlfriend to utterly destroy things, and I was considering having him play out similarly here. His name is probably something he doesn't easily share or otherwise buried under the nickname "Boxer", and he'd be a rough and tumble sort who mostly exists on the underbelly of Eddan.
Despite all of that, most of that's because he doesn't like being on records. He exists as someone who literally erased himself off of digital records and disconnected from his home city, so he'd probably be doing the same here... or once he awakened, repeat the process.
I'd need a mod opinion, but I kinda wanna have him transform into his Transistor (sword) version at night, and have a navigator persona, where he's basically a weapon that acts as a navigational guide, as in canon, with the major downside that he can't move around on his own (or his Persona has to carry him around, which would be funny and fitting tbh).
And Ayano... Ayano is a teenage girl who's very upbeat and happy and has a horrible sad backstory I'm not going to get into, but I probably wouldn't change much about her name/life either. She'd just be... well, herself, though maybe her Eddan-self would be more quiet and demure, and be more friendly to people.
I'm totally open to being tugged toward either of them, though I'm reaaaaaally feeling Boxer tbqh. Anyone wanna plot, potentially? I'd enjoy having him have some pre-CR and/or have a person who's willing to be the wielder to his Transistor.

I'm no help but it'd be great to bounce off either of them, they sound like they'd bring very different things to the table. Ayano is a cutiepie who I think could hang out with this kid here, while Boxer would be more challenging but interesting to wrangle CR with. o9

But yeah, I'm glad that Transistor is mostly self-contained: I love sentient object shenanigans and I love love love the concept of the Transistor (and I actually brought up it'd be rather interesting for it to be his Persona, where summoning it allows it to contain him and be his sort of nav-box deal.)
I honestly love Ayano's cute-but-determined nature... but Boxer's got a lot of CR potential and he clicks very well with many kinds of characters, plus he'd be an interesting character overall to play because of how twisty turny his situation is!
I have wanted to app him to many games for the sheer fun value of figuring out how his powers WORK now, if he has any. I was considering The Near Shore for a while solely because I wanted to make him be a weapon that's true-to-canon... Lord.
He's just great, though. I could gush about him forever, but he's a wonderful character from a wonderful series and I cannot encourage watching or playing Transistor enough.

Combining the Transistor & Persona concepts sounds like a really interesting idea to play with and I hope that it'll be possible in-game, 'cause I'd really look forward to seeing how that plays out. Plus the A++ of having a sword navi and wtf'ing at that for a while. I don't know much about Transistor overall but I do own the game! It's just been kind of gathering dust for a while but I should see if I can finish it sometime this year. :3c

But play it! It's maybe 3-6 hours long at most. It's very quick if you play it - the story's super easy to digest, and it has very little extra stuff other than a lot of lore and chatter from Boxer.
Plus, it does some incredibly interesting things, like Boxer not having a canon name, face, or history, which I like quite a bit.

I'm in the middle of Bastion and a few other games right now but I'll have to poke at Transistor once I shave down on my currently-playing list a bit. I didn't know it was that quick!
That is an interesting story choice, will he be gaining (and then losing lol) these things in the AU? Totally curious now.

In AU, I'd have to give him a name and history. And his OU gives you enough of his history to understand his background, if you pay attention: He's a grifter that exists outside of the system, having mostly remained an observer who participated in things outside of the city's scope until he met Red.
He doesn't need a defined face - it'll be handwaved, since I don't really need to talk about his face or anything. But he probably would be just as secretive with his real name as he was in the game proper. I don't know if he's actually called Boxer or not, even: that's actually a name pulled from the game's code itself!
In-code, Red is referred to as Muse, and Boxer (or "Blue" as people like to call him) is called, well, Boxer.
Transistor is a wonderful game with excellent worldbuilding and a deliberately minimalist narrative. I'm hoping we see it get some kind of fleshing out - even a novel would be wonderful.
