ah yes hello, my name is Xel! And I am thinking I will be bringing you this cryptid of a dude, known otherwise as Royce Bracket from the slightly obscure game Transistor. Transistor is a touching story about a furious mute lady, her sword boyfriend, and the secret society that Ruined Everything in the process of making their city great again. Royce in particular helped Ruin Everything harder than most and he's basically not sorry about it. Oops.

HERE ARE SOME CANON ROYCE THINGS:
➤ 37. Expert in math and engineering.
➤ Also architecture and computer programming. These things might seem kind of diverse but Cloudbank is a weird world that more or less seems to be a Matrix/San Junipero sort of situation, so they're actually functionally all the same discipline.
➤ As such, Royce designed a TON of stuff in the city of Cloudbank. Roads, buildings, sculptures, you name it. He was very passionate about it too. But there's a problem: in Cloudbank, everybody gets a say in what the city looks like, and the majority opinion is always changing. Royce pours his all into building a tower, Cloudbank votes for a park sometime later, tower is deleted so a park can live there. Park gets to chill for a while until the people want a fountain. Then the fountain gets torn down because they feel like a tower. Sounds a little frustrating, right?
➤ Yeah, Royce gets super butthurt about this state of affairs after a while. He starts designing more and more daring and avant-garde stuff hoping that it might last a little longer, but the people always get tired of it eventually. So Royce effectively retires and flounces off to a surburb of his own creation, where he starts obsessively trying to understand the pattern behind the changes to the city.
➤ He ends up discovering the hidden mechanism behind everything that gets built in Cloudbank. These alien robot critters are collectively called the Process.
➤ He also stumbles upon the Transistor, a USB sword.
➤ Royce's longtime friend Grant, a high-ranking city admin, agrees with Royce that the people don't know what's good for them and hatches the zany plan to make Cloudbank its best self by STRAIGHT UP MURDERING a bunch of influential citizens and like, sucking their essence into the Transistor to use as they see fit. Royce is just like, totally fine with this I guess. The way this works is like... let's say Cloudbank is a canvas, right? The Transistor is your brush, and the Process is essentially your paint if paint could also start to rage out of control and Delete Fucking Everything.
➤ So yeah, that happens. Royce is just like "my bad."
➤ He's a little softspoken and socially awkward but cordial and at least a little bit charming.
Impeccable fashion sense, weirdly. His outside doesn't match his true character like, at all.
➤ Inexplicably has a bit of a gentle southern accent.
➤ Was a graduate of the prestigious Traverson Hall, which is literally almost the same deal as Green Valley. So that worked out p awesomely.
➤ Resting bitch face
➤ Chainsmoker (there is no lung cancer in Cloudbank)
➤ Royce/Process OTP
➤ It's a one-sided ship; the Process seems to kind of think he's a dick.
➤ Villainous origin story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zi8ShAosqzI
➤ Crazy tall. Like 6'3'' at minimum, 50% leg with a dorito build.
➤ In terms of basic personality, he's airy, artistic, introverted, curious, prideful, and just a little folksy. Outwardly he's a fairly affable guy, but there is something a little off about it. The best way I can describe it is "amicably empty." It doesn't help that his morals seem to be, um, pretty flexible.

HERE ARE A COUPLE AU ROYCE THINGS:
➤ Graduate of Green Valley, now works in some capacity for the city maybe?
➤ Architect/planner/civil engineer, something of that nature.
➤ Is probably rather attached to Eddan! Because it's his, you see.
➤ Disapproves of this rash of murders but admittedly is super curious about them. Probably because he and his colleagues committed a rash of murders in another life.
➤ Will probably become a little addicted to the rush of summoning his Persona.
➤ Requires friends and colleagues to prop up his ego, make him be social, and convince him to make terrible life decisions. That last one doesn't seem to be very hard.

Oh god this is so much. His TDM thread can be found here, at any rate! Obligatory mentions that I'm super excited about the premise and would do unspeakable things in the name of enabling castmates. Wow it sure is 3am I'm gonna go to bed
