Mitsuru Kirijo: The hour is growing late, and I worry that may have an effect on both of us.
The timing of the responses causes her to pause. One fast one, and then when she's ready to set the phone aside to try and get some rest, another appears. Then there's an uneasy sensation rooted in her own stomach, after bringing up the death of a parent.
Though she has no reason to be ill at ease. Both her parents are fine, if very distant right now. (And at the moment, a part of her prefers that; more time to grow into her own person, and forge her own identity... provided she keeps her grades up.)
Still, why focus on that when there's still a touch of correspondence left?
Mitsuru Kirijo: However, I appreciate the time taken out to speak with me on this. It helps, knowing that whatever this is, it isn't an isolated incident. And I shall see about keeping my own eyes open for other incidents, or signs.
