[Man, if they come out of this alive one Sorazawa Haruka is going to get branded worst tutor ever. Nobody will have apples for teacher, it'll be a sad-knock life. Remember his reputation well-- Seriously, who brings somebody half their height to a shadow realm convention, apparently this guy does.
To be fair, it's not like he's been sleeping or thinking straight for most of the past week, on top of having someone else in his head who can see the practicality in bringing a companion along without considering age. Or at least considering it only after the fact.
It's too late for regrets, though: apart from rediscovering gravity, they've managed to discover one vicious, unrelenting shadow that's also much, much too fast to corral with a shovel. Lenka-- Haruka's heart is in his throat every time the thing gets out of his sight, which is much too easy where they're at now, and he lets out a half-breath of relief every time Atsushi shouts to prove he's not become shadow food.]
Keep talking! And-- [he sidesteps a few apples, automatically, before pausing and looking down] ... Apples. Use the apples!
[There's no further explanation, because their enemy hasn't stayed by the shorter tree -- in fact, it's gone straight up the thing with frightening and impossible speed and climbing ability, and Haruka is off after it as though he intends to run straight up the tree with weapon in hand--
But he pauses at the foot of the tree, just for a moment, to pick up an apple -- and that's when the shadow, seeing a possible opening, comes diving straight down.]
