Even if it's a real escape you want, there's probably better ways than this.
[At least, safer ways. Within the shadows of one of the larger, nearby trees, something slithers and pulses, oozing down the backside of the trunk, still invisible... but does it matter if they can see it if they can both start to feel it?]
