Utsugi Lenka (God Eater)

[OOC: Lenka's AU name will be Sorazawa Haruka for the purposes of this top-level; since I only just decided on the name, this doesn't apply to threads anywhere else on the TDM. Rough AU background here & Test Persona here.]

1. People Die When They Are Killed

[It's been a few days since the mysterious app has appeared, and perhaps the headaches have lessened, but the creepy glow and flood of messages sure hasn't. It's small fry next to the flashes of dreams and strange daytime visions, so having some sort of compulsory code name on a creepy chat program doesn't even register anymore.

He'll be Utsugi Lenka in e-space if he has to. Speaking of creepy, though:]

utsugi lenka: a classmate suggested digging around the cherry trees lately.
utsugi lenka: because of the story that corpses lie under them.
utsugi lenka: they bloomed well this year.
utsugi lenka: so i had to stop them, but...

[Now he can't stop thinking about it. So you probably get this at like 1 or 2 in the morning on a school night. Oops?]

2. An Eye for an Eye, an Apple for a Pie, and This Title Has Nothing to Do with Anything, Actually

[Let's make it a night of the full moon, because that's more dramatic and we have no idea what time of month we're in; in fact, it's likely bright enough that you barely need a flashlight even with all the uncanny shadows the orchard trees are casting. There's no wind: it's silent as the grave out here.

Which makes it all the more noticeable when the yelling and crashing starts.

There's the snapping of branches, the screech of metal that sets teeth on edge, and the low, steady lapping of what sounds like a swamp on fast-forward. It's not a very pleasant combination of noises, but more distractingly still, the orchard itself is moving. Trees all around you are swaying, so that it's difficult to tell which way to turn. Also--]

Don't think you can run.

[There's a low growl coming through the treeline that should probably be alarming.

Of course, the more pressing matter is that all the movement has also dislodged an impressive amount of apples, which are now falling like hail all around you. They're ripe, but they probably still hurt... Stop for a snack? Look for the source of the battle? Or slip comically on a series of apples run as fast as your legs will carry you?]
