She's disappointed. He can tell that. In a way, he is too, though he doubts for the same reason. Darkness is his element; there's no reason for him to have light abilities, and even less reason to it to protect a stranger. He's not sure why he did, aside from maybe the all-too-domestic memories from here interfering with his own self concept. But this life was fake to begin with wasn't it?
